Arizona State University’s (ASU) W.P. Carey School of Business offers an online MBA program aimed at developing leadership skills. It is optimized for individuals who are working or are currently engaged in business. The online MBA program is one of the top 5 in the country, as listed in the U.S. News & World Report, and is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
The online MBA program offers 9 core courses: Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Statistics for Managers, Managerial Economics, Managerial Finance, Organization Theory, Strategic Management, Marketing Management, and Operations and Supply Management. Only one core course is discussed at a time to allow students to get immersed in the topic. You can choose from a variety of elective courses for holistic learning.
Although instruction is delivered online, the curriculum mirrors what is used in ASU’s full-time and part-time programs and is taught by the same faculty. You will meet your fellow student via the online orientation. This is crucial as they will serve as your teammates over the course of your study.
Classes start in January or August. You need to complete your requirements in order to apply. The application form is found in the website and can be completed in as fast as 30 minutes. Other requirements include your essay (questions are available in the site as well), and your Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) and Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores. You also need your official university transcript and recommendation letters from two individuals. International students have to submit proof of English proficiency (TOEFL) and obtain a U.S. visa.
Application fees are listed on the site. Students without a credit card can settle their payment through check or money order. ASU also offers financial aid in the form of loans and scholarships to select students.
